If you enter through the Burrard Street entrance (main entrance), take the elevator located across from the Gift Shop to the 5th floor. Once on the 5th floor, the Rapid Access Clinic is immediately on your right.

If you enter through the Comox Street entrance, walk down the long hallway towards the Gift Shop. Then take elevator located across from the Gift Shop to the 5th floor. Once on the 5th floor, the Rapid Access Clinic is immediately on your right.

Where to Park

It is difficult to find parking downtown, so make sure to allow time to find a space before your clinic appointment. There is metered parking on the side streets near the hospital.

There are pay parking lots near the hospital at the Century Plaza Hotel on Comox Street across from the Comox entrance to St. Paul’s Hospital. There is also parking at the Sheraton Wall Centre located on Burrard Street. These lots collect parking fees as you leave. It may be less stressful for you to choose a parking lot that collects fees when you leave, as appointments may take longer than anticipated.

There is also an Outpatient Clinic Parking lot located at the corner of Comox and Thurlow Streets. This small, outdoor lot is conveniently located near the Comox Street entrance and is payable by credit card only (Visa, MasterCard or American Express).

In advance of attending your scheduled appointment at the clinic please complete the Food Record. This information helps the BC HPN team to provide you with the best care possible.

Pediatric HPN Clinic

Complex Feeding and Nutrition Service Clinic Appointments

Infants and children on HPN and HPN graduates are closely monitored by the Complex Feeding and Nutrition Service at BC Children’s Hospital. The frequency with which your child is seen in clinic will vary from weekly to yearly appointments, depending on your child’s needs. At each clinic visit, a gastroenterologist, a dietitian, a nurse and a social worker will meet with you. An occupational therapist is available upon request.

Due to the limited number of infants and children on HPN within BC, there is no dedicated Pediatric HPN Clinic. Appointment inquiries can be made by calling the secretary at 604-875-2345, local 7464 during office hours:

Mon. 8:00am - 4:00pm
Tue. 8:00am - 12:00pm
Wed. 8:00am - 4:00pm
Thu. 8:00am - 12:00pm

The Pediatric General Surgery clinic is located in the basement of the BCCH Ambulatory Care Building in Area 2. Elevators are available for your convenience across from the Ambulatory Pharmacy (Area 6 on the main floor).

Home IV Therapy Team

Infants and children on HPN will see the Home IV Therapy nurses as needed, if you have problems with your child’s dressings or if your child’s PICC is damaged, occluded or dislodged.

They can be reached at 604-875-2345, local 7635. If your call is urgent, please ask the Hospital Operator (“0”) to have them paged.

Where to Park

Parking onsite can be challenging, especially during mid-week clinic days. Allow yourself plenty of time for locating a parking spot and walking across the large campus to your clinic appointment. Pay parking is in effect 24 hours per day.

A family 30 hour parking pass is available for $70.00. This pass benefits those scheduled for multiple or frequent clinic visits. The maximum daily charge is 5 hours and the pass is valid until the time is used up. The pass can be purchased at the Cashier’s Office, located in room 1T21, near the BC Women’s Hospital main entrance. The office is open Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 16:00 and is closed for lunch.

You may also wish to take advantage of the FREE valet parking service. This service is located in front of the BC Children’s Hospital main entrance.
